How to Link your Domain with Hosting Account on HostGator | cPanel Tutorial | Hindi Video
Let's learn how to link your newly purchased domain with your hosting account.
Follow the steps below and see the attached video:
Steps:
1. Login to your Domain dashboard (website from where you purchased your domain name).
In this example we used BigRock.in as our domain provider.
Move to ORDERS tab and click on the relevant domain which you want to link. (Only if you have multiple domains in your account)
2. Find the "NameServer" settings and click on Edit Nameserver button. Usually a Pen icon in front of the nameserver. (You might know that we generally have 2 nameserver feilds or sometimes 4, but only 2 nameservers are needed )
Change the default nameservers to the ones you got from your Hosting account. Remember to click on "Save" or "Update" button after changing the nameserver.
3. Now login to your Hosting account dashboard. Then find the "Domain" Section/ tab in your cPanel area. Click on "Domains" OR if you have multiple domain account click on "Addon Domains", in this example we are using "Addon Domains" feature.
4. Simply, type your domain name (the domain which you want to link with given hosting) in the text field (Remember do not include http://) Below fields of "sub-domain" and "domain root" path will be auto filled, you do not to write these.
If you want to create an FTP account for this domain, you should simply tickmark on the below option and finally click on "Add Domain" button.
It should display a success message on your screen.
5. Now we will re-check if the domain is added in cPanel or not. For this let's move to Email section of your cPanel. Click on "Email Accounts" , on next screen click on blue colored "+Create" button on extreme right hand side.
6. On next screen in "Create an email account" section, browse the drop-down menu and check if our newly added domain is listed in the domain list. (Remember if you have single domain account there will not be the list but only single domain will reflect)
